About Dr Jekawo

I am a qualified Registered Traditional Herbal Doctor, living on the semo-border Ogun State. My interest in herbal medicine began when I was 9 years old with my late stepfather which was a spiritual herbal doctor with ancestral powers, following which, I treated my children and wider family, and loved sharing the herbal knowledge I had discovered. with my children for them to have knowledge of nature and healing.

I previously had a long career in Comunity spiritual leader in 2004. I was a Senior Chief, working as a community spiritual leader, which I loved.

Since then, I earned a First-Class Honours degree in Philosophy and Psychology, from The National Open University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from National Open University.

I then formalised and expanded my herbal knowledge, and trained in Traditional Western Herbal Medicine for over 7 years with the College of Integrative Medical Science (CIMS) in Ghana promoting integration of western allopathic and traditional African herbal medicine.

I had a private counselling and psychotherapy practice for a number of years, eventually going on to set up and manage a Home Counselling Service for a charity in the FCT, Lagos, while also carrying a personal case load.

This training involved examinations in anatomy and physiology, naturopathic theory, in-depth learning of the herbs themselves, herbal medical practice, supervised practice, clinical assessments, case studies and the submission of a 15,000 word research thesis.

I really understand what it is to be unwell, especially if you are suffering a chronic illness. There can be so many losses, isolation, crushed dreams and ambitions, changes in relationships, the way you see yourself and how you fit into the world.

I am so proud to be a traditional herbalist, linking traditional healing with scientific understanding, and helping people to appreciate the fantastic medicines nature provides, and ways to significantly feel better and live a more contented life.

I am a full member of the Africa Herbal Medicnes Association,(AHMA) and adhere to their strict codes of conduct and practice that ensures the highest ethical approach to herbal medical practice. I also undertake postgraduate training to expand my herbal knowledge, and to ensure my practice is continually updated.

There is always hope, though – sometimes we need help and guidance to keep moving on our path back to improved health and a new lease of life. If you feel you would like to work with me to improve your health or for spiritual problem and needs, please get in touch. If you would like more information about how I can help your particular circumstances, I offer a free, no obligation, 10-minute chat during one of my consultation days.
